There are minor differences in new radiant quests, but they will often bug and you get ones you shouldn't and don't get ones you should. Other than that the endings of all four are more or less identical, none of them change anything and the direct rewards are not really noteworthy aside from the automatic laser musket you get from the Minutemen, which is noteworthy purely for the sheer idiocy of it. There are no big post-game changes, aside from who is out on the roads. You don't get to do anything at all as the Institute's new Director. You can destroy the Brotherhood after the end, if you side with the Minutemen.

The Brotherhood and the Railroad destroy each other. Mechanically it's a question of who do you want to see populate road checkpoints after the game ends, if you plan to keep playing after the game ends, and how many factions you want to destroy.Įveryone destroys the Institute.

You can do Minutemen and Brotherhood quests without interfering with the other factions to a point so you can find out about them. The Brotherhood of Steel, a military group that gathers pre-war tech so humanity can't destroy the world again, and hates Super mutants and ghouls because they're abominations, but in the end is an authoritarian group of metal bullies that eventually will follow the same end of the west coast chapters and maybe disappear. Moving on, you have the Minutemen, a bunch of farmers and settlers with guns and a nice surprise later on but disorganized and too dependant on the General. It's what you think is the lesser evil for the commonwealth (and maybe roleplay reasons), because every faction exists in a gray area, every faction has perfectly good intentions but they are far from perfect in methods and/or organization, you have to choose something that you feel won't do more harm than the ones not chosen (mostly because future radiant quests involving the not chosen factions). There's no 'best faction' except Brotherhood of course in this game. In a title, if your post contains spoilers, begin your title with.
